A Pack of Hot Dogs, But No Buns—Here's Why 

Indeed, hot dogs have their own council. Let's put this argument to rest and decide whether a hot dog is actually a sandwich. 

It is common for hot dog buns, also known as sandwich rolls, to be packaged in eights since they are baked in groups of four in pans 

specifically made to accommodate that number of rolls, as stated by the National Hot Dog Sausage Council (NHDSC).

Well, that's just the way it is. It seems to reason, therefore, that the quantities of buns and hot dogs in each packet should be equal. 

Buying two packets of buns for every pack of hot dogs at the grocery store is an incredibly annoying need. 

The "Condiment King" Heinz, though, has chosen to take a stand in the long-running controversy. 

The official month of hot dogs is July. Wonder and Heinz have joined forces in the Heinz Hot Dog Pact to commemorate the occasion.
